These burros were brought to Montgomery Creek Ranch to spend the rest of their days running free. But these beautiful animals had never seen grass before. So the ranch decided to introduce them gradually and seeing their first reaction is truly breath-taking. Their joy by the end made my heart so happy!
This is what it looks like when an Arizona burro sees green grass for the first time!
We turned the burro herd out onto grass to get them used to this "foreign" terrain before turning them out on the ranch to run free. Truly an amazing sight:
