47-year-old Olegario “Ollie” Cantos has been blind since birth but he doesn't let his disability keep him from living his life. Being blind came with lots of challenges for him growing up. There was always a much stronger learning curve when it came to daily living. But despite all odds, Ollie has turned his struggles into a way to help others.
In 2010 Ollie was introduced to Nick, Steve, and Leo. These boys are all blind and they happen to be triplets. Since then, Ollie has taken them under his wing and become their mentor. Because of Ollie's encouragement, all of the boys are now self sufficient and all heading off to college. Each of the boys were also made Eagles Scouts, which is an accomplishment that is very tough for anyone to accomplish.
These boys are so grateful for everything Ollie has taught them. He means so much to them that now they call him "dad". What an incredible story of how extending a helping hand can change the whole course of someones life!
