32-year-old Annie Smith thought she might have to give birth to her baby at home when she went into labor during Hurricane Harvey. Floodwaters started rising around her apartment fast. She quickly realized their was no way her husband would be able to drive her to the hospital in these conditions.
She called 911 but in the midst of this storm they couldn’t guarantee when they would arrive.Thankfully, the couple are both doctors, so they began to gather supplies around the house in just case the baby came. During all of this, one of their neighbors stopped by and saw the situation. The neighbor sent out an e-mail to the complex asking people to come help. At least 15 people came right away to help the Smiths.
Thankfully, helped finally arrived but Annie still needed to find a way to get to the large vehicle. That's when her neighbors began to form a human chain to help get her onto the truck. The truck was able to bring Annie to the hospital just in time to safely birth her baby. About 12 hours later, the baby arrived happy and healthy. God bless these neighbors for banding together to help Annie!
