John Aldrige was working at sea while his fishing partner Anthony was asleep below deck, when things went terribly wrong. John was moving a cooler when the handle snapped sending John flying backward into the water.
The boat was on auto-sail and all John could do was watch as the boat sailed away. John was trapped in the water for 12 hours trying desperately to stay alive through rough water and even being circled by sharks. He tought he was a goner but refused to give up.
