The Carnegie Hero Fund Commission has been dedicated to recognizing ordinary people who did something truly extraordinary since 1904. These real-life heroes risked their own lives to save complete strangers putting their own lives at risk to do just that. People like Andy to rushed toward a car engulfed in fire and reached into to pull out a kid he didn't know. Or like Ashley, a mother of two who saved a trapped man she'd never met from a train track.
