104-year-old Lieutenant Jim Downing is one of the last veteran survivors from the Pearl Harbor attack. Jim was almost killed during Pearl Harbor but ended up making it out alive.
In this interview Jim opens up about how he prayed to God through the whole attack. He said he thought for sure he was going to die so he told God, "I'll be with you in a minute". But almost 30 minutes went by and he was still alive. He says that he experienced the most amazing peace he'd ever felt knowing that God was in control and protecting him. Jim's greatest joy is his relationship with God. He thanks God every day for all that He has carried him through.
A couple years ago Jim even wrote a book about how God impacted his life in the military. Jim's joy for the Lord radiates through every aspect of his life. He is so incredibly grateful for everything he has been given despite the hardships he has faced. What an inspiring man of God! God bless you Jim!
