The tragic bombings that occurred on April 15, 2013, during the Boston Marathon left the city in a mess, mourning those killed and injured in the blast. That's why the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs in Chicago sent emotional, furry support to those who desperately needed happiness.

 







The sweet Golden Retrievers are therapy dogs that help people through traumatic incidents. The dogs give the people the warm love and affection they need.







"People talk to the dogs - they’re like furry counselors," Tim Hetzner, president of Lutheran Church Charities, told NBC. "It's a chance to help bring some relief to people that are shaken up because of the bombings."

These lovable counselors were also sent to help people through the tragedies at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. 







Two dogs, Addie and Maggie, stayed in Connecticut to serve at the school on a more permanent basis and help the children that survived the tragic shootings. They were the first dogs that were able to make it to Boston and spread the joy that people so desperately needed.











Sometimes during tragedies, all we need to do is say a prayer to the Lord and let the joys of life help us back to our feet. God is always with us; the people we love will never truly leave us. Always know that!
