When 6 year-old Shoichi Kondoh heard about the disaster in the Philippines, he did not think twice about giving away his childhood savings. He sacrificed his entire piggy bank to help those in need.
Accompanied by his mother, Miho Kondoh, Shoichi visited the Philippine Embassy today to personally hand-over his donation of JPY 5,000 taken from his piggybank savings.
Consul Bryan Dexter Lao expressed sincere gratitude to the embassy’s youngest cash donor. The amount may have been small, but the sincerity and sweetness was overwhelming.
