Amazing Grace

It’s always an emotional moment when the bride is walked down the aisle by her father. But for Brittany, this moment had everyone in tears -- including the photographer, Delia Blackburn -- as things took an unexpected twist. (Pssst - that’s your cue to grab the tissues!)

As Brittany and her father, Todd Bachman, stepped up to the aisle, he surprised everyone by halting the procession. Even Brittany didn’t know what was going on. With all eyes on him, Todd marched up to Brittany’s step-father.

Grabbing him by the hand, Todd pulled Brittany’s step-father up to the aisle, saying,

“You worked as hard as I have. You'll help us walk our daughter down the aisle.”

And once everyone realized what was happening, the beautiful gesture had them all in tears. Hand in hand with her 2 dads, Brittany beamed as she walked down the aisle.

What a blessing for Brittany to have so many men in her life that love her. The moment of kindness was shared on Facebook by the photographer, Delia, and is being shared like crazy, with over 1 million likes on the original post, and over 450,000 shares! Delia says in her post,

“Families are what we make them...make it about your kids and not your ego. Congratulations Todd Bachman on showing your kids what true love really is...love for your children.”

I don’t think there was anyone present that wasn’t touched by this action. But it was a gesture that meant the world to Brittany’s step-dad. He describes the moment that Todd pulled him to the aisle as the most impactful moment of his life. Which just goes to show how much power there is when we choose to show grace!
