Bride's Wedding Photos Include Her Deceased Brother

Every bride looks forward to being surrounded by family and friends on their wedding day. But Catherine Carter's brother tragically died in a construction site accident just weeks before the wedding. And she was heartbroken to know he wouldn't be by her side on the big day. But this bride found a very special way to make sure her deceased brother was still a part of the wedding portraits she'd treasure for a lifetime!

Gone But Not Forgotten

Shaun was always supposed to be part of Catherine's special day. And his absence in the wedding photos would have always served as a painful reminder of the tragic reason he wasn't. So, Catherine asked graphic artist Rachel Duncan of Jelly Penguin Graphics to help fill the gap.

"She asked if I could add her brother to her wedding photos and I thought it would help," Rachel said.

And even though Rachel happily obliged, even she didn't realize just how powerful the photos would be for Catherine and her family.

Filling The Gap

Rachel took several of the pictures from Catherine's wedding, and enhanced them by adding the faint image of her deceased brother, who was only 29 when he died.

The results are beautiful. And for the bride, it's a true blessing.

"Seeing him in the pictures was a miracle, I couldn't stop crying," said Catherine.

A Special Gift

And while Shaun was surely with his family in spirit on that special day, the gift of having him represented in the wedding portraits is one that Catherine will always cherish.

"I really wanted him to be in my pictures. He was supposed to be there and it looks like he is there - I love them so much," she gushed. "It means so much to me to have a photo of him standing with us. I've framed it and have it in my living room now."

God clearly gave Rachel a special gift. And it's incredible to see the graphic artist putting those talents to use in such a powerful way! We pray Catherine and her family will find comfort in knowing that they will one day see Shaun again.
